Here's a cover test for my personal project, working title Dark Planet. it is a sci fi comic with art done the european way.(Bande dessinèe, aimed to the French and European market, but with the possibility to be sold in the U.S as well. Original texts will be done in english and then translaed into other languages, Italian too.

Colors for this cover will be very probably handmade, with watercolors or acrylics and small use of Photoshop. more to come soon.

Making a cover is not exactly as easy as it could seem. I like so much doing cover illustration, tho.
original art is done with filter pens , china ink, and more.

i find this new group formewd by Vinne Paul , previous Pantera drummer, and the good vocalist by Mudvayne, is one of the greatest metal band ever formed.
They will get us back the power of a fantastic band like Pantera truely was.

I have to say i was really amazed by this new singer. check for him.
MIKA reminds me about Freddie Mercury and Queen, and i find him great both in singing and composition. so i dedicated him this watercolor illustration.

When i was done with this art, i noticed a raimbow in the wall behind my desk. simple light ray refraction or a sign ? Who knows..


Devo dire che sono stato piuttosto colpito da questo cantante, che come artista è paragonabile al grande Freddie Mercury dei Queen, e un poco anche a Geoge Michael. Ma più Freddie.
Mi è piaciuto molto anche il tono delle illustrazioni che accompagnano il suo CD e quindi gli ho dedicato un ritratto ugualmente allegro e cartoonoso nello sfondo.

Io ho gusti solitamente moolto metallari, ma i Queen mi son sempre piaciuti musicalmente parlando. Hanno dei bellissimi pezzi hard rock, mescolato alla musica classica e all'opera.

Mika me li ricorda parecchio ed è al primo album.

p.s. Ci credereste?quando ho finito l'illustrazione , sul muro davanti alla mia scrivania è comparso, quasi magicamente un piccolo arcobaleno. fantastico !
